Spreadsheet Gradebook Project

 

Some schools provide teachers with software to use to collect and calculate grades.  Many do not.  You can create your own grade keeping records with spreadsheet tools.  For this project you will use Microsoft Excel.  Advantages of using spreadsheet software for grade keeping are that the software calculates the grades for you any time you need them and you can quickly access the grades of an individual student and print them for parents or school personnel who might need them.

 

ASSIGNMENT

Imagine that you have a class of 15 students at the grade level and in a subject area you plan to teach.  Set up 9 learning activities that you would assign and grade in one school quarter.  The average of the grades for these 9 activities will be the final grade for the quarterly report card.
